 Slot punches are used to punch oblong slots in leather. They may also be referred to as bag punches or crew punches.

Trace punches are used to punch a tapered slot - wider on one end than the other. They may also be referred to as tapered crew punches. Originally used in harness work they can also be used in other applications as well.
