Ron's Tools
We are now selling selected new Ron's Tools. The working end of the tools are great and the handles are beautiful. These tools are handmade in Montana. Originally these were made by Ron Edmonds. When Ron looked to retire several years ago Toby Yoder took over the business. Toby carries on the same craftsmanship and attention to detail and we are proud to be carrying them now.
Montana Edgers
Montana Edgers were developed to be used on thin leather. They have very narrow toes to allow edging without bumping the toes into the work surface. If you want an equivalent of the good old Gomph round back edgers, here they are.
Round Edge Edgers
Round Edge Edgers give a clean rounded cut without leaving edger tracks. Every tool has a sharpening rod of the appropriate size to aid in maintaining the shape and size of the cutting edge.
French Edgers
Straight French Edgers are used for French edging and skiving.
Round Gouges
These tools make a rounded profile gouge line or wide groove for easier folding.
Stitch Groovers
These groovers let you make a small freehand groove for stitching.
Cantle Binding Trimmer
The cantle binding trimmer allows the saddlemaker to reach under a cheyenne roll and trim off the excess binding. The tool resembles a long, narrow French edger with a short, narrow blade. Handy.
