Ticklers are used to make a freehand single crease line. They also are good for helping to set a fold. They come in two varieties. Regular ticklers have a thin profile and leave a narrow line. The beveler ticklers are wider and have an angled profile to make wider line with double beveled edges, like for doing checkering patterns.

The regular tickler narrower will leave a narrow crisp crease line.

The beveled tickler profile will open a wider and bolder crease line, When it is used in a cut line the profile will open the cut more than a regular tickler and bevel the cut edges back.
