About My Work
I have been working with leather tools for many years and have specialized in refurbishing and reselling them for the past 15 years. Over that time, I’ve come to understand the frustration that comes with tools that don’t perform as they should due to dull edges. I also know that not everyone has the knowledge, equipment, or time to properly maintain their tools.
Since the early days of my business I have offered resharpening services for the tools I sell. Over the years I have refined my sharpening methods – experimenting with different media, jigs, fixtures, and machines until I have developed a sharpening process that I’m proud of today.
Tools Purchased from Me
I continue with my same "Buy it from Me, I Re-sharpen for Free" policy. If you purchase – or have purchased – a new or refurbished tool from me, I will resharpen it for the life of the tool at no cost beyond return shipping.
Whether you prefer not to sharpen it at all, tried it and weren't satisfied with results, or simply want the edge restored after regular use – I am happy to help. I work on the honor system that you bought a particular tool from me, please help me out there.
Tools Purchased Elsewhere
Now that I’m retired from my day job, I am also offering resharpening services for leather tools purchased from other sources. I provide edge cleaning and sharpening only (no handle replacement or other repairs). The fee schedule is included below.
Please note: Some tools may be too damaged to restore. If you suspect this might be the case, please email or phone and text me photos beforehand so we can evaluate the condition together.
Pricing is listed as a range because every tool is different – some may need only a light touch-up, while others require significant work such as removing chips or re-grinding. I base my charges fairly within the range depending on the effort required, and I will contact you if the work looks to exceed that estimate.
